CELEBRITY CAR WARS

CELEBRITY CAR WARS
29 Aug, Mondays 10pm (SIN/HK), 9pm (BKK/JKT)
28 Aug, Sundays 9pm (PH)

Celebrity Car Wars is a rollicking, new hour-long action reality series that is a mix of competition, fun, rivalries and adventure.

We’ve assembled 6 of Asia’s most famous, socially connected, articulate and gorgeous celebrities. They may be hot but can they drive?

To help them along their 8-week road of automotive adventure we’ve added a couple of motor racing experts to teach them the tricks of the trade (“the brake is the one on the left”).

The most fragile substance on planet earth is known to be the Celebrity Ego and it is sure to come under threat as our 6 celebs undertake weekly challenges that put their driving skills to the test, under the bemused eye of host Bobby Tonelli.

After each challenge the Celebs gain points towards the ultimate prize: entry into the ‘Celebrity Car Wars Hall of Fame’, a club so exclusive it has no members.

EPISODIC GUIDE

Episode 1: DON’T HIT THE WALL
29 Aug,Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/28 Aug, Sunday 9pm(PH)

In this opening round of Celebrity Car Wars our celebs post a car racing hot lap during their first time trial, but for one of them at least, it all goes horribly wrong.  Celebs then complete a braking challenge by hitting a speed of 80kph, hit the brakes and NOT hit a brick wall.

Episode 2:    DON’T HIT THE ANCIENT ARCHWAY
5 Sep, Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/4 Sep, Sunday 9pm(PH)

Round 1 saw Allan Wu survive the crash but will a 16th century fortress survive Allan Wu? Celebs must reverse a hot dog trailer though an ancient archway then race each other in the Celebrity Car Wars Karting Showdown.

Episode 3:    DON’T HIT THE FIRE HYRDRANT
12 Sep, Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/11 Sep, Sunday 9pm(PH)

The dark automotive art of drifting isn’t all smoking tyres and screeching brakes (although we admit that is seriously cool). Our celebs discover that it requires some serious skill. Then it’s a case of the blind leading the blind in our Pressure Parking Challenge.

Episode 4:    DON’T HIT ROCK BOTTOM
19 Sep, Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/18 Sep, Sunday 9pm(PH)

The Celebs think they will be racing exotic cars, which turns out to be true (well, sort of) then it’s time to get down and dirty as the Celebs climb into what is essentially a “Meccano” set with a V6 engine strapped to it. Their Mission? To conquer an off road course known simply as “Big Rock”.

Episode 5:    DON’T HIT THE MALL
26 Sep, Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/25 Sep, Sunday 9pm(PH)

In this round the Celebs hit a Shopping Mall (literally) in crazy mayhem that is the “Uptown Mall Obstacle Course”, then go head to head in the Celebrity Car Wars World Drag Race across the mighty Sacobia River Bridge.

Episode 6:    DON’T HIT THE WALL…AGAIN
3 Oct, Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/2 Oct, Sunday 9pm(PH)

The Celebs return to the track to improve their Hot Lap times (and NOT smash into a wall). One Celeb has a meltdown and former F1 racer Alex Yoong steps up as a Mentor. The Celebs’ competitive claws come out when they are forced to team up for the Pit Stop Challenge.

Episode 7:    DON’T HIT THE REFEREE
10 Oct, Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/9 Oct, Sunday 9pm(PH)

The Celebs are given a small amount of money to go out and buy a car, bring it back to Celebrity Car Wars Headquarters and pimp it up. They then team up for a game of Car Football. Former F1 driver Alex Yoong steps in as Referee (and quickly wishes he hadn’t).

Episode 8:    DON’T HIT YOUR LIMIT
17 Oct, Monday 10pm(SIN/HK)/16 Oct, Sunday 9pm(PH)

The Grand Finale Race of Celebrity Car Wars where one lucky Celeb will enter the Celebrity Car Wars Hall of Fame, a club so exclusive that, up to now, it has no members. Who will be its first?

BIO

JUSTIN MOTT @AskMOTT
Justin Mott is a professional photographer and judge on Photo Face-Off Season 3. He has shot for just about every major publication in the world including over 100 assignments worldwide for New York Times. His work doesn’t stop in editorial, he is one the world’s most versatile photographers running Mott Visuals, a commercial photography and video production studio with a client list that includes global corporations such as Microsoft, Reebok, Unilever, Intercontinental Hotels, Ogilvy & Mather, to name a few.
His work has been featured in publications as diverse as the New York Times, TIME, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The Guardian, BBC, CNN, Bon Appetit, Forbes and numerous other international publications.
Justin is an engaging and entertaining on-screen presence and is one of Asia and the world’s most varied photographers having shot weddings to disasters and everything in between.
8 Photography Tips from Justin Mott
1. Be Patient
The best photographers are patient photographers. Find your light and your background and just sit and wait for something to happen in that light. The wait can be painstaking but a great photo lasts a lifetime.
2. Give Yourself Homework
Give yourself weekend assignments, practice makes perfect. A few examples; photograph just the color red, limit yourself to just one particular shape like circles, or pick a feeling like love. Mix it up all the time with your assignments so you don’t get bored.
3. Light is Key
Interesting light makes for interesting pictures. First you need to understand and recognize gorgeous light in every day life then you need to learn how to creatively expose for that light.
4. Shoot on Manual
If you are shooting on automatic or aperture priority you are doing yourself and your growth as a photographer a disservice. Shooting in Manual mode on whatever camera you have opens up a world of creative exposure options that aren’t available using your camera on automatic.
5. Break the Rules
Take the rule of thirds and other cliché photography rules and throw them in your trash bin. Everyone is a photographer these days, so if you want your work to stand out make your own rules, don’t be like everyone else.
6. No Place Like Home
Many people think the only way to get a great picture is to travel to exotic locations. That couldn’t be further from the truth, great pictures are just outside your door. Take an hour after work, which is typically right around sunset for most people and explore your neighborhood. Trust me, you will learn new things about your surroundings and you will get amazing pictures.
7. Don’t Be Lazy
When you see something you like, don’t simply stop, take your camera out and shoot it. Move around a bit, out some thought into what you want to say with this image. Find an interesting angle; look for something interesting to shoot through. Get up high and get low too - perspective is what separates the novice from the pro. Don’t be afraid to lie on the ground and shoot from the floor. When people walk by and think “What is that guy doing?” is often when I'm getting my best pictures.
8. Learn How To Tell A Story
One picture can tell a story or you can use a series of pictures. Craft your art of storytelling and you will become a better all around photographer.

Gangland Undercover

Gangland Undercover

Charles Falco is one of only three men ever to infiltrate three different outlaw biker gangs. With his savvy and expertise, not to mention his immense courage, Falco has helped law enforcement bring some of America's most dangerous and feared gangs to justice. This first season of The Infiltrator takes us deep inside the notorious Vagos. Falco details this operation in the optioned book Vagos, Mongols, and Outlaws: My Infiltration of America's Deadliest Biker Gangs.

The real-life Donnie Brasco will meet Sons of Anarchy in a way that can be Gangland 2.0 for History. With a combination of interviews and high-end recreations, each episode unfolds a different step in Falco's covert investigation into their illegal activities.

Working in conjunction with law enforcement and drawing on the wealth of material from Falco's book, along with broader documented historical research of inter-gang rivalry, this series captures the reality of outlaw biker counter-culture: a world where freedom is equal.
